French Silk Chocolate Pie

French Silk Chocolate Pie:

Crust:
one nine inch pie crust

Filling:
3 oz. unsweetened chocolate, cut into pieces
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
4 eggs

Topping: 
1/2 cup sweetened whipped cream
chocolate curls, if desired

Directions:
1. Bake empty pie crust and cool completely
2. In 1 quart saucepan, melt chocolate over low heat and then cool. In bowl with electric mixer, beat butter on med speed until fluffy. Gradually beat in sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in cooled chocolate and vanilla until well blended.
3. Add eggs one at a time, beating on high for 2 minutes after each addition. Beat until mixture is smooth and fluffy. Pour into cooled pie shell and refrigerate at least 2 hours. 
4. When ready to serve, top with whipped topping and chocolate curls.
